LC Ranch consists of Registered purebred & percentage Gelbvieh cows; located 1 mile East & 1 mile South of Stettler, AB. I had 1st seen the Gelbvieh cattle while attending Lake Land College in Vermilion & felt they would make an excellent cross in our program, which at that time was mostly a Charolais based commercial herd located at Unity, Sk. We bought our 1st Gelbvieh PB females in 1989 from Garth Simpson & were very impressed by the cattle's docile nature, moderate frame, pigmented feet & udders; from there we grew our PB herd slowly based on lower numbers but excellent quality cows & bulls. Both Anne & I grew up on ranches & have been involved in agriculture most of our lives. In 1999 we moved the purebred Gelbvieh cows to Stettler & have since maintained our focus on quality versus quantity of cattle in an effort to supply excellent genetics to commercial & PB cattleman. Anne & I are very proud of the Gelbvieh herd we have continually improved & would love the opportunity to share these results with you.
